Job Title: Sales Manager – Corporate and MICE.

Reports to: Director of Sales and Marketing.

Direct Subordinates: No direct subordinates.

Indirect Subordinates: No indirect subordinates.

  1. Duties and Responsibilities:

1.2. Responsible for business from the Corporate and Commercial accounts, MICE and Long Stay Business.

1.3. Identifies and handles sales leads effectively and efficiently.

1.4. Monitors and provides regular and accurate reports on market trends, competitor’s activities and reacts accordingly within your own market segment.

1.5. Maintains regular contact through sales calls, telephone or other means with your clients and report any adverse comments to management for rectification.

1.6. Informs existing and potential accounts of activities in the hotel and solicits for new business.

1.7. Participates in planning and realization of sales campaigns together with Director of Sales and Marketing within defined market segments.

1.8. Active participation and submission of reports at sales meetings.

1.9. Assists in planning and coordinating sales activities and events.

1.10. Assists in coordinating the development of all promotional material.

1.11. Manages account base and maintains all customer information up to date manually and electronically.

1.12. Provides ongoing advice and support to staff under his/her supervision.

1.13. Submits weekly call schedules based on quotas set and other reports as required.

1.14. Keeps an accurate record of all sales calls made for future reference and control purposes.

1.15. Maintains effective control of sales expenses.

1.16. Submits Expense Reports as and when required.

1.17. Handles any client compliments or complaints and ensures proper feedback to management for communication or rectification by department(s) concerned.

1.18. Entertains supporting and prospective clients in order to maintain or develop long lasting and growing business relationships.

1.19. Represents the hotel and participates in domestic and international sales activities.

1.20. Attends meetings as required.

1.21. Monitor your target of Active Accounts, Room Nights and Food and Beverage Revenue timely to ensure achieving and exceeding your target.

1.22. A predominant task of yours is to solicit base business for The Act and 72 Hotels.

1.23 Handle other job tasks that will be delegated to you from Director of Sales and Marketing.

1.24. Ensure promoting and securing Food and Beverage Business for Both Hotels.

1.25. Submit your Daily Calls Report that should cover a minimum of 05 personal sales calls per day.

  1. Self-Management Duties;

2.1. Comply with hotels rules and regulations and provisions contained in the employment handbook.

2.2. Comply with company grooming and uniform standards.

2.3. Comply with timekeeping and attendance policies.

2.4. Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development.

  1. Customer Service Duties:

3.1. Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards to include:

3.1.1. Being attentive to guests.

3.1.2. Accurately and promptly meets guest expectations.

3.1.3. Understand and anticipate guest needs.

3.1.4. Take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints.

3.1.5. Be able to promote the hotel (THE ACT and 72 Hotels) products and services.

  1. Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities:

4.1. Demonstrate Awareness of Health and Safety policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within H and S guidelines and ensure your direct reports do the same.

4.2. Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.

4.3. Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.

4.4. Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers.

4.5. Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel procedures.

  1. General Duties:

5.1. Comply with the company corporate code of conduct at all times.

5.2. Familiarize yourself with the company vision and values which link to the model of desired behaviors that all employees are expected to display.

5.3. Perform other tasks at the level of the role as directed by your line manager in pursuit of the achievement of business objectives.

5.4. Have the desire and ability to improve your knowledge and abilities through on-going training.

5.5. Ability to work as part of a diverse team with colleagues from different viewpoints, cultures and countries.

The above tasks are considered to be predominant job tasks; therefore, you could be delegated to conduct tasks as instructed and not included in the above.
