Research Assistant in Hardware Development (MBRSC Lab)

The College of Engineering and Information Technology invites applications for the post of a Research Assistant in Hardware Development in the MBRSC Lab for commencement of employment in September 2020 or soon after. The duration of the contract is one year and will be extended subject to availability of funding. The Research Assistant should have a Master or a Bachelor’s degree in computer or electrical engineering from a reputable university and should have a minimum of 2 years of industrial experience. Expertise in hardware development is a must. Preferably, the candidate should have experience in:

High-speed digital electronics, FPGA technology and microprocessor systems preferably for image compression.
VHDL code for high data speed signals.
Design schematics for electronics board and PCB layout design using Altium tool.
Xilinx tool ISE or Microsemi tool Libero SOC.
Low-level hardware and embedded operating systems.
FPGA evaluation boards and IP Cores.
C/C++ and Python Programming.
Git and Github or similar revision control system for codes.
