About the Role
The role incumbent is responsible for managing laboratory services and is also responsible for overseeing the quality aspects of the laboratory functions. The post holder is also required to rotate across administrative and clinical based functions
About the Responsibility
Aware of Regulatory guidelines (DHA) and guides the laboratory in accordance with the regulatory requirements.
Establish and maintain professional standards and quality control procedures to ensure safe and efficient practice
Ensure that all technical standards, policies and procedures are maintained, and address any concerns and monitors and enforces policies and standard operating procedures and implements quality and process improvement activities
Provide quality input, in collaboration with corporate quality assurance management. Review all lab validation test plans , IQ/ PT and summary documents to ensure installed systems are fit for intended use (All activities of Core lab and Blood Transfusion discipline)
Develops new and effective ways of organizing systems to maximize the department’s resources while minimizing expenditures and waste. Assists with the development of operating and capital budgets for the department, provides input to strategic planning initiatives
Monitors the efficient working of LIS
Oversee the collection, evaluation and distribution of lab related quality tracking and trending data, and ensure regular communication to laboratory personnel. Continuously monitor applicable lab performance indicators. Collaborate with operations and training to structure and design training programs to improve and correct problems or noted nonconformities.
Prepares and presents laboratory Annual cost Analysis with feasibility studies
About the Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
Graduate or Master’s Degree in Laboratory Sciences
Valid DHA license
Valid Basic Life Support Certification
Minimum 10 years supervisory experience in Laboratory management with at least 5 years in a managerial position
Previous experience working with international accreditation i.e. JCIA
Knowledgeable of Dubai Health Authority regulatory standards and has the ability to guide the laboratory in accordance with the regulatory requirements
Supervise and undertake clinical duties when needed
Ability to deliver quality laboratory services
Ability in performing budgeting, cost analysis, headcount, staffing, audits and management requirements
Ability to prepare and implement standard operating procedures for a quality workflow
