Job Title:            Customer Data Analyst

Reports to:        Senior Customer Data Manager

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to use their passion for big data and analytics to provide the understanding and advancing of AFA division knowledge of customer behaviour by building and maintaining a 360° view of the Customer. This role will produce critical business reporting and will support users across the organization in leveraging customer-level data to drive business strategies and tactics.

Key Accountabilities

Work alongside with colleagues who possess diverse perspectives who are committed and passionate about customer advocacy.

Evaluate the effectiveness of our data, and recommend improvements in data system, regulatory reporting, business processes and procedures.

Work with a wide range of teams ensuring the data perspective is always represented

Highlight any opportunities and challenges and recommend next steps

Review the performance of all activities and provide key reports and recommendations

Implement and continuously improve data operations processes for the curation of core data assets

Understand the day-to-day issues that our business faces, which can be better understood with data

Compile and analyze data related to business’ issues

Develop clear visualizations to convey complicated data in a straightforward fashion

Work closely with the Senior Customer Data Manager, group Data / IT teams and the Automotive brands, and potentially vendors, to identify data governance, data quality and analytics opportunities based on a deep understanding of our businesses and their information assets.

Conducting data quality assessments, ensuring with all stakeholders are always adhering to data structure & protocols (ingesting or exporting data / hashing data)

Support in the development of data standards and protocols to ensure scalability and support self-service data use

Job Context

The position impacts the organisation by supporting the data governance and data quality performance, data analysis & reporting, including metrics, KPIs and issue remediation in conjunction with data owners. The incumbent is expected to establish themselves as a subject matter expert with both the Automotive brands and the Group support functions (group IT and Data / Analytics). They will collaborate and, where practicable, support standardising of processes, methodologies and procedures that can be applied throughout the Automotive division

Qualifications, experience, & skills

B.Sc. Degree. Computer Science/statistics, mathematics with emphasis on applied mathematics or informatics

Knowledge in SQL, Python and R.Advanced knowledge of relational databases

Experience working with large data sets

Experience using data to aid key business decisions

Deep understanding of Advanced Analytics – Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Economics

Candidates who are considered for this role should have demonstrated a high-level of Commercial Acumen, Clear strategic thinking and have the ability to quickly create constituency and influence at a senior level

Minimum of 3 years of working experience in data, campaign measurement, insights and data science, covering both technical and insights management elements

A deep understanding of transformation and analytics (descriptive and advanced), with proven record of delivering business impact through data, campaign analysis & insights

Ability to self-manage and self-motivate

Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, resourcefulness and time management capabilities

Proven record of delivering business impact

Experience working with data analytics tools and reporting platforms

Proven expertise in usage of MS Office Suite and related project management systems (Preferably Microsoft Project Online Professional and JIRA)

Expertise on agile methodology or software development life cycle experience in analytics (preferably prior track record of playing the scrum master role)

Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
